David McPherson is the founding pastor of Eldorado Community Church. Over the past 20 years, David has served a variety of churches in the capacity of youth pastor in Texas, Tennesee, and Georgia. Prior to coming to New Mexico in 2002, he was also the senior pastor for Central Baptist Church of Oak Ridge, Tennessee.

David holds a Bachelor's Degree from Oklahoma State University, and a Master of Divinity Degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas.

Prior to getting married, both he and his wife Melanie participated in a 2-year missionary journeyman program: David in Grenada, and Melanie in India. David and Melanie, and their family, also lived for several years in Vienna, Austria, working with university students in cooperation with the Austrian Baptist Union.

Although born in Oklahoma, David grew up in "Cajun country" in the south Louisiana town of Morgan City. His travels and work over the years have allowed him to experience a variety of cultures on every continent except Australia. David is also a ceramic artist, primarily focusing on wheel-thrown forms, fired using the western version of "raku" pottery. He and his wife, Melanie, live in the Eldorado community with their three children: Daniel, Tim, and Kelly.
